Shiatsu for Pregnancy and Birth
Japanese acupressure — safe through all trimesters.
A full range of healing touch — each session individually tailored to your body's needs in this moment. Whether you seek deep relaxation, pain relief or preparation for birth, Katia brings years of specialist training to every treatment.
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of acupressure based on the principles of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. It is considered a wonderful form of support during pregnancy.
By applying gentle — and at times deeper — pressure with the fingers and hands along the body's meridians, combined with joint mobilisations, tension is released and energy flow is stimulated. Shiatsu helps balance body, mind and emotions.
Safe from the first trimester onwards. Up to the 38th week, Moxibustion can be used to help turn a baby from breech or transverse position. Shiatsu can also support the natural onset of labour if the due date has passed.

- Emotional imbalance, anxiety, inner restlessness
- Muscle tension, back pain
- Sacroiliac joint discomfort, sciatica, pubic symphysis pain
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Heartburn, headaches
- Fatigue and low energy
